- For starters: Common sense and open-mindedness. Skepticism is healthy - remember you'll never be able to convince others of the validity of captured 'evidence.' But you can certainly change your own stance and opinion based on what you experience. I'm a lot more open-minded since something unexplainable in my basement ran away from me :D
